Cardigans

Cardigan: Banana Republic Factory, Blouse: Gap, Pants: T.J. Maxx,

Shoes: Enzo Angiolini, Watch: Skagen

Unfortunately, I think cardigans have earned a bad reputation. They’ve somehow been associated with a “frumpy cubicle” look, but I regularly build them into my work wardrobe.  I was drawn to this one because of its striking color and finishing details.

Try these tips to class up the cardigan:

  • Always pair cardigans with a blouse rather than a t-shirt or camisole for work
  • Choose cardigans with interesting buttons, patterns, and details rather than the basics
  • Be creative! Thanks to Pinterest, I’ve seen tucked in cardigans, cardigans worn backwards, and cardigans belted all sorts of ways

Looking for cardigans? This peplum style caught my attention, the summery colorblock of this one is striking.

Khaki and Cream

Blouse: LOFT, Trousers: Limited, Bracelet: Banana Republic, Earrings: Gifted

Occasionally, I get overwhelmed with color. And, it’s no big surprise that I’m a sucker for a cream blouse {I’ve got several variations of the same theme}. So, sometimes  a neutral color palette is exactly what I need to feel pulled together.  Today I opted for khakis, cream, and a statement bracelet and finally felt ready for work.

Black and blue is always a classic color combination. I’m excited to wear these pants throughout the spring {ha!} and summer.

@Atlanta: An Anniversary

Today, My Guy and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary.  Since eating delicious food is one of our favorite hobbies, we knew the weekend would include lots of munchies.

Over the weekend, we shared:

{Street snacks at the Inman Park Festival} One of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhood’s lined with beautifully crafted old homes and even older trees hosts its own street festival every Spring. It’s on our list of dream places to live.

{Fondue at Dante’s Down the Hatch} – Around since 1970, this is Atlanta’s favorite fondue spot. The restaurant features features a wrecked ship complete with alligators, a nightly jazz band, and Dante makes the rounds to each table almost every night.

{Brunch at The General Muir} – a local delicatessen featuring bagels and lox mixed with our favorite sweet treats.

The Blouse

Blouse: T.J. Maxx, Jeans: Banana Republic, Shoes: INC, Necklace: gifted, Belt: Old Navy

I’ve really been drawn to patterned blouses lately. They are some of the most versatile pieces in my closet. They are easy to dress up for work {by themselves or under cardigans and blazers as I’ve done here}, or dress down for the weekends.

Looking for a great patterned blouse? I love the playfulness of this one, the versatility of this one, and the way this  one makes me feel like being at the beach!
